Frequently Asked Questions

There are many decisions to make when choosing a shop to repair your car after an accident or other damage occurs. These are some of the most common questions our customers ask us.

  1. Can you match the exact color of paint on my car?
    Yes. We can match the color of your vehicle. We utilize your vehicle’s paint code and plug it into a specialized computer which provides us with a color-match code to mix the paint.
  2. How long will it take to repair my car?
    Our goal is to repair every vehicle to its original condition and to our customers’ satisfaction. Every repair is different and the amount of time it takes to return your car to you can vary significantly. We compare repairing your car to an illness. When you are sick, your recovery time is usually different than someone else. The same is true with your vehicle.
  3. Who is working on my car?
    Your car is being worked on by one of our highly trained body techs. All of our body techs are certified by the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR). I-CAR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to training auto body repair technicians at the highest level to ensure the safe and accurate repair of vehicles. Our techs and painters stay up to date with training so they know how to properly repair your vehicle.
  4. What kind of parts do you use for repairs?
    We use new parts, recycled parts and certified after-market parts. The after-market parts are certified by CAPA (Certified Automotive Parts Association) which assures all parts are of the highest quality. Sometimes new parts for older vehicles are no longer available and we will utilize the highest quality recycled parts for these repairs. We are happy to answer any of our customers’ questions concerning the parts we are using.
  5. I do not have an extra vehicle. Can you help me arrange a rental?
    Yes. We have a partnership with Hertz and have a selection of rental cars at our facility. We are a Hertz satellite company and we are able to handle all the paperwork for you and submit it to Hertz. So if your car is in our shop and you need a rental, we can put you in one right away. It’s very simple to drop your car and get in the rental and go. If you choose to use a different rental company, we can help make the arrangements.
  6. If I have an insurance claim, how is the deductible applied?
    If you have a deductible, we will collect the deductible when you come back in to pick up your completed vehicle.
  7. I cannot get away from work to drop off or pick up my car during your business hours. How can I drop off or pick up my car to fit my schedule?
    If you can’t get to our shop during normal business hours, we have a drop box located at the main door of our facility. We will also work with you to make special arrangements if necessary.
  8. I need a ride to work once I drop off my car and do not have anyone to take me. Can you help?
    If you need a ride back to work or home after dropping off your vehicle at Akron Auto Painting, we can help. Please call us and we will work with you to make arrangements.
